It was a great trip. Exactly the kind of breather we needed. The trip was planned at the last minute. Abhay said "chalo jate hain" and I said "sure!" on Tuesday and we were off on Thursday. I think that is how the good trips happen. On the spur of the moment. Like they say, "Pyar kiya nahi jata ho jata hai" I think "Plan kiya nahi jata - Trip ho jata hai"

We started after office on Wednesday. And just crashed at Ayodhya, a hotel in Tarabai chawk in Kolhapur. Next day got up early and went to Ambabai temple for Abhishek. The whole Abhishek, Darshan and Aarti were perfect. I also got to take the darshan of the Matruling which is situated exactly on the top of the Ambabai murti. Very satisfying experience. The abhishek was done by 7. Had a great breakfast at Ayodhya and were on our way. Went via Amboli ghat and reached Baga by around 2 in the afternoon. Found the guest house by chance. It had 6 Non AC and 6 AC rooms at reasonable prices. The beach was crowded mainly with foreigners. Not many Indians around. In the evening we just chilled on the beach and got a temporary tattoo done.

The next day, we hired a pulsar and rode around the north Goa beaches. The prices are very reasonable. Around 250 for the whole day and petrol at the cost. Abhay and I wanted to ride on a bike in Goa since a long time. It was a fun ride. We visited Anjuna, Wagatore, Morjim and Ashwem. Anjuna is rocky and Vagatore is crowded. Morjim is a great beach. But does not have any shacks or hotel near by so can be secluded. Ashwem is semi rocky but a good beach. Had some noodles in a beach restaurant. Went back to Baga. We went clubbing this night at Mambos. The club is pretty in right now. The whole street with its many clubs and bars was alive and bustling. This trip was turning out to be a fun and freak out one.
On Saturday, we bid our adieu to Baga and headed to south Goa towards Palolim beach. This is almost on the south tip of Goa in Kankona. We passed thru Panjim and Madgao. Goa is such a scenic place with its red hills, palms, green fields, Portugese Villas and very vividly painted local houses. I have not seen such shades in any other city. Magenta, Ochres, Orange and Turquoise. But in Goa they look great! on our way we had our lunch at Martim's corner in Majorda. Great food, The yummiest Tiger prawns I have ever tested. great ambiance. Palolim beach was lined by shacks. They were dingy but habitable. We had a great evening listening to waves, reminiscing about years gone by.
The last day was a marathon journey back and we were traveling for 11 hours thru the greenest belt of Karvar - Ganeshgudi and Belgaon.
Great trip - we have promised ourselves that we will go back again next year and year after that and again and again ...
