We had a glorious weekend in Mahabaleshwar. It was cloudy and raining in the afternoon but we had great time. Mhabi people have these umbrellas that are specially built for them big and sturdy.
This snap shows "Kamalgad" You can spot this fort in many of the 60 - 70 film songs shot in Mhabi. Legend has it that the well in the balekilla was used to store ghee that was 100 years old. This ghee was used by the soldiers on their wounds.

A phenomenon very unique to Mhabi and Panchgani are the local "Jyotishi" that haunt you as soon as you get down at Mapro garden or any other popular spot. "You love her very much but she does not believe. You are embarking on a big venture. You would be visiting "foren" very soon" promising genaralities all, to get you hooked in for more. I have not vitnessed these kinds at any other place other than the "sanskriti" type restaurants!

Our favourate eats in Mhabi, Chane at Bapu chanawala, Strawberries from a vendor near mhabi temple.

Favourate hotels to stay - Sherwood on Satara road or Ramsukh near the mhabi temple. MTDC is pretty good too.
